a monk swim

floating
eyes down
below the surface

legs beating
slow
just enough
to keep these old monk bones
from sinking

novice voices n'laughs
sound clear over the bay

steady elementary backstroke
back to the beach
and into monk robes

  2. Brother Ollie,

It is lovely to discover that the Monks have some recreation time as well. Taking the pressure off those weight-bearing shoulders and floating carefree....Some personal time away from those novices!!!
    Enjoy the freedom:)

    Best wishes,
    Eileen

  5. I hope the monk is refreshed and the salty sea was his cup of tea!

  6. It's always nice to return here, knowing that I'll find a sagacious entry from the Tired Monk. Thanks for that!
