Modern Discman Tanka

the old discman churns
little mechanical whirls
mix tight with Neil's
battered pick-ups -
crunchy power chords

  6. There was always something more comforting about analog, perhaps because it's a physical not virtual medium, keep rockin' bro.

  8. Had a discman for years before my daughter gave me an IPod. Saw a documentary about Pearl Jam and loads of Neil Young footage in there; a mutual admiration society. Showed them jamming, and Young is taking no prisoners, rocking like it's life or death. Loved this poem, Ollie! Amy
