they like that story
like the telling
how your dad was
murdered
when you were two
how my dad left
the night
I was born
oh
they like that story
like the telling
but we know...
we connect
outside the story
for Nilame - one of the saints out on the path
You have captured that fascination for the sensational, and the real truth behind it. We need quash the titillation we feel. I think I blame t.v. for that.
ReplyDeleteYes, the true connections are outside the story. Good one, Ollie.
ReplyDeleteBut it's all part of a bigger story, great to see you back!
ReplyDeleteThey won't ever really go away, those links to the past.
ReplyDeleteThe monk returns? My journey is just beginning,
ReplyDeleteI like this. Scattered. But enough to puzzle something of the reader's own.
Send my regards to Nilame and all the saints.
I've been reading through a lot of your poems since it's my first time here. This one really spoke to me. We're all looking for connections, but some are looking for salvation in a shared connection. So many need to learn that looking for others to save us is futile. There is only one Savior.
