Frost Warning

radio warning
killing frost they say
predawn creeping cold

the tired monk hears and heeds
covers his pumpkins
digs out his wool work socks
chooses the biggest mug
brimming coffee warmth

  8. I love the way you take such a small moment, a tiny action, a fragment of a bigger picture, and you bring it front and center. The mark of a true poet.
