twenty bucks

worn guitar still
resonate and ringing
steady thumping bass

bar stool beer pitcher
filling slow
crumpled bills n'change
singing for tips

song titles yelled out
as the last tune ends

singer leans in close
"nothing says request
like twenty bucks"

  13. Brother Ollie,

I love knowing that the Tired Monk, occasionally finds a lighter moment in his day. Playing guitar and making a little bit of money, while doing something enjoyable, is very uplifting. Music brings such pleasure, to both the audience and the musician, even without the Twenty Bucks:)
