forest edge poem

bits of wood flying
from a dead tree hole

woodpecker
red squirrel
a porcupine?

masked face looks out
surveys the forest edge
yawns
curls back inside

a long ringed tales
blows in the breeze

  1. How SWEET to glimpse that furry face peering out. I love it!

  2. I agree with Sherry. I like the guessing, too, as so many animals could account for the pieces of wood.

  3. This is how mother nature reveals her cuteness. Very sweet.
