Wow, this takes me back to The Day!!!! Smell of talcum powder and hair oil on the guys, soap and perfume on the girls - those eyes, those smiles, all brand new and hopeful. Lovely.
My 1948 Cadillac convertible had leather seat covers, and a back seat that could have accommodated Hoss Cartwright. Raised in Seattle, so I kind of missed out on the small town LAST PICTURE SHOW kind of teen years. Great poetics, Ollie.
ollie, how is it that the potential here for this new story being born (so long ago) infuses hope in me?
