a little more snow

slow winter morning coffee walk
a bit of bliss really
new snow clings to old spider webs
the temple dog shivers...shakes
inside Johnny Cash sings of Christmas

  1. Old Ollie,

Wrapped up in spite of the snow. An inner feelgood warmth enhanced by the melodious tones, of Johnny Cash. A master of words too..and for the right moment....

    Warmest Wishes, Eileen

  3. Love the "bit of bliss" - the tired monk's eyes are always open to the beauty around him. That's what I love about reading these poems - I get to share the lovely scenes!

  8. Oh, Johnny Cash... didn't "get" him when I was young and snobbily steeped in jazz. After I heard the track he wrote for "Dead Men Walking" soundtrack, I finally understood the depth of his feeling. Then I went back to the Folsom days, and my appreciation blossomed to real love for his authenticity of spirit. Great poem, Ollie! Amy
