scales

pentatonic scales
sliding around
reaching, searching,
finding the key
bending low gauge strings
looking for hidden half notes
hammering on
hammering off

deep in tired monk method

80% of the notes ring true
100% played passionately

  1. Brother Ollie,

The passion is complete and that brings the most fulfillment. The rest is simply exploring noteworthy possibilities; which in time might even bring new energy to the sound:)

    Happy Sunday,
    Eileen:)

  6. I definitely understand this, Ollie. It is the same thing with my singing. LOL. Except the ratio might be 50 - 50!

  10. I played lead in a local rock band in my youth. The passion IS the key. Nice one.

  11. I can relate. I am not too good with guitar, still caught up in the learning phase. But when, out of the blue, I hit a chord right, the sense of achievement I feel is incredible. I enjoyed reading this. :)

  19. Ollie, the passion is all that counts. I tend to sing a bit flat, swoop in under the notes, the whole blues thing. But it's the attitude that puts it over every time. Love hearing about your music! Peace, Amy
