on demons
demons linger
outer edges of parks
deep in the woods
right on the crossroads
or under basement stairs
waiting
for generations
if needed
once they're forgotten
they'll slither out
ready
with their
ancient dusty tricks
the problem
with demons
is that they
don't get bored
Never thought of boredom as a cure! Cool.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking of one in particular who slithered out from under a rock to spew his venom. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteAnd isn't that the killer - a superb poem.. And I wish they would get bored
ReplyDeleteYou and me both!
DeleteI think they will only get bored if we ignore them... alas they grow strong from fear.
ReplyDeleteexactly!
DeleteDon't go in the basement at night
ReplyDeletefor here they might give you fright
True, demons don't get bored. They also are very patient & always find a way to resurge!
ReplyDeleteThat's true.. they can wait for ever for that vulnerable moment...

Very true Brother Ollie! They rejoice in seeing destruction and sufferings that afflict others. Never realizing Karma may work against them later!
