the small town monk

no robes                     down jacket
no sandals                  steel toes
no meditation stick      hockey stick
no tonsure                   toque

cold bundled
meting out wisdom
out behind the Zamboni doors

quick cigarette pulls
hockey stick stories
sketched poems
tucked workboot deep

thanx to the dox

  6. Wisdom lurks around in the strangest, and in the least strange places. Fine poem, and the structuring and skips were perfect.

  7. This is wonderful. I love seeing an everyday man "outed" as a man of wisdom. They hide all around us.
