cold front

temple windows rattle
icy branches snap
layered robes fly up

hearty tired monk laugh
impractical dress
in these cold front winds

  1. That must be what they call "frosting your nanny"....hee hee. I love it, Ollie - only a tired monk can find humour in a cold front.

  2. Definitely impractical clothing for these cold nights. The monk needs some thermals :-)

  3. Ollie,

Perhaps the tired monk, may need to invest in some warmer under-garments,or leggings!!! Winter is still blowing upon human fragility....Spring is not too far away, even for the tired monk:)

    Best Wishes,
    Eileen:)

  4. I see the Monk gently mocks the chill with laughter and unsuitable dress. Without trying to be tough.

Warrants much rereading. Thank you, Ollie.

  5. I don't envy the Monk on these cold cold days as winter makes itself known under the layers of his robes. Perhaps he might knit himself some long-johns when having a brief respite from his duties?

  6. Ha, this made me smile. Those robes always struck me as impractical. Sort of like those hospital gowns that have two draw strings and are never the right size!!

  7. LOL This was fun to read though the scene in the first stanza set up a scene for just about anything. Thanks for the laugh this morning!

  9. As a woman who at one time never wore trousers, I know this sensation. Chilling! :-)

  11. This was fun.I can imagine how they do it in the Himalayas.but they do.strength of will, I guess. and may be thats why this monk can laugh too.

  12. Any state of mind that can evoke a hearty tired laugh I'm sure can deal with any cold fronts and affronts that blow by.
