dusted robes

heavy white boughs
a monk on bended knee
offering winter prayers

enfolded deep
in bending
hemlock boughs

offering a moment
not asking
no
only abiding

to these old robes
wafts of incense
and prayers

early morning sounds

and fresh
hearth flames
