on rain falls and flames

waylaid sunrise
a "rain fall warning"
dashing all hope
of morning light

lamp flame smoulders
flickers quick
sparks to fuller life
with one deft
adjustment
venting in sweet air
and sweeter light

  1. The rains have hit on the west coast too........I love that "waylaid sunrise". I expect ours some time in late April, lol.

  6. At the end of your poem I do indeed feel thankful! Sometimes it is good to know that there are 'adjustments' we can make.

  7. That adjustment to bring in the lights... like opening the blinds and see the outside... yes we need that in our life too.

  8. I think we need adjustments in our perspective. It looks like rain right now, but the trees are still holding their autumn color.
