spring walk

beaver crossed  here
dragging a tree branch
foxes and coyotes mingling
with cattle dogs
a deer straight down the trail
then through the cattails 
deep horse hoof prints
walking side by side

    Beautiful, to have that much non-human life around you. The temple dog must be kept ecstatic, sniffing.

    This has a real Japanese feel to it. A haiku essence and simple structure. Quite beautiful.
