such a great dream
now stuck
in this day lit reverie
lingering blessing
from the night
my brother
bigger now
sweet quiet companion
our feet just
skimming early sun beams
from the lake
our double gaze
swinging out
over misty lake silence
Yeah. These are the moments we carry with us as we go. Or that carries us. I'm not sure which it is.
ReplyDeleteYour poem makes me peaceful.
Your brother would love this one
ReplyDeleteas i do.

I don't know how far your brother's gone - away, or away away -- but I've had reveries like this of walking with my younger brother who died in 2008. Savoring the eternity of a moment now forever lost. With that "double gaze." - Brendan

ReplyDeletecreates a bed in me, turning turning until just right
i've never quite had those moments with someone my height
but manage, time to time, with my children
gold to the spoon
honey to the chest
