back cracking
pain etching
same old shattered glass,
grass, undumped trash,
sticky food fight floors
dirty word graffiti doors
hovering pink slips
red tape mess,
work, headache stress
ain't you mad?
ain't you angry?
no man
this all just fuel
for tired monk poems
Hey! Where's the lemon? Never mind! You identified a lot of fodder for poetry and change.
ReplyDeleteQ: Where's the lemon?
ReplyDeleteA: See stanzas 1-3
All about the metaphor today, and everyday.
No way to crayon outside those lines any more, friend. Not for us tired old copyists in the scriptorium. Yet the music is still there. Inside the faint, nearly obliterated capitals. - Brendan

ReplyDeleteHad a bad day at work. I can relate.
ReplyDeleteold Ollie,
ReplyDeleteI think the tired old monk, is due to have a well earned day off.
Too much cleaning....no bitterness....
Best wishes, Eileen
PS: Thank you for you very kind words left at Life of a Poet Interview!
How right you are, Ollie! Writers are the best at turning lemons into lemonade...

YOU need some sweet, zen filled moments, to reflect on Mother's Nature gifts~ I can see the bitter fruit all over this poem~ Great imagery!!!
ReplyDeleteOh the sweet turning of it all.

Your a teacher Olie. I'm the kid in the back of the class. You tell me to pay attention but I can't pay attention to anything but sweet Mary Jane's ass.
ReplyDelete"grass, undumped trash,
ReplyDeletesticky food fight floors
dirty word graffiti doors" -lovely choice of words..I interpreted the words as ---cut garden grass- undumped trash, foods scattered on the floor and graffiti written doors...Nice

I like the fact that you haven't used "lemon" anywhere. but all the put-offs mentioned in what you've written above does make one feel as sour as a lemon.
Wow! I am so impressed with this This is something I want to incorporate into my life. I'll be searching now for writer's fuel. :)
ReplyDeleteoh this is interesting indeed! loved it :)
