  1. Morning head at this end too, Ollie. I love this poem! The misty metaphors fading into steam. Good one.

  2. Sometimes coffee steam is just coffee steam.

Excellent haiku, Ollie. I'm impressed - my haikus always suck.

  4. Beautiful haiku - and an apt description of many mornings. I'm always a better writer as I drift off to sleep. Until morning reveals all the flaws.

  5. This is very good. Touches senses other than sight -- the mist, and then the smell of coffee.

  6. Just lovely... a moment lost in thought.

  7. a reflective moment, fleeting as steam itself, yet made permanent here. i love how words can do that.
'night poems' was the line for me, echoed in 'misty metaphors'

    *deep sigh.

  8. I like this...a LOT! I always write my poetry about 5:30 am with lots of rich Brazilian coffee. Hugs, pat
