waiting it out

waiting it out ain't easy
heavy days scratched
cell block deep
rolled shoulders hunkered
in chainmail robes

the Tired Monk

I think I need an attitude adjustment.

  4. i wonder about these times, ollie. it seems we are signed up for them, rather then electing them ourselves. perhaps we need them. without them how might we appreciate that other place?

    and so now...

  6. There's nothing wrong with owning your weariness. In fact, I think it's good mental health to balance the yin and yang. Being happy every second of our lives is humanly impossible.

I really love how well you expressed yourself. As a reader, I could feel your despair but know it's not permanent.

  7. No pun intended but this poem weighs heavy. It reeks of burden and hardship. It seems though there is a wee chance of overcoming with patience although not written. Thank you for sharing such a thought provoking piece.

  11. Old Ollie,

It seems like something is pressing heavily upon the shoulders of The Tired Monk.
Perhaps a day of simple prayer may help!
