ode to a shed

slow caving
shed roof
sagging shingle tatters
one hinged door
leaning out
over milk crate pile

puddle damp floor
still pooled
in the foot stomp hole
Molson stubby bottles
line the outer rafters

stove stuffed full
broken kitchen chair legs
leaks rusty red
dry leaves spin

  1. Oh poor shed. I know in the east, men take great pride in their sheds.......sounds like a lot of good music got played out there......time for a restoration project? LOL.

  11. Many a fun time had in that shed with those Molson bottles...love the descriptions of this worn well-lived shed.

  14. I wonder how many of us grew up with a shed like this on the property? Ours was made from an old stage coach (Yes we had them in the UK!), turned garden shed, then chicken coop, and in resting periods a hideaway for us boys. But we could just hear our mother call out "Boys!" at dinner time. What a great descriptive piece of writing.

  17. The shed is so full of paraphernalia that even the stove is stuffed full! So many stories here behind all the things in the shed.
