music carries me
up over back country road short cuts
Neil Young and Crazy Horse
blasting hard fast distorted buzz
clicked off in my parking lot spot
a day of unrelenting cacophony
a stream of non-sequitur "facts"
questions and questions
and questions about questions
head spins
exhausted monk
out to the car
silence
all the way home
just a slight tire hum
I can feel that- starting off in the morning with tunes, all happy, a day of stress and questions, then silence all the way home. Smiles. Perfectly described.
ReplyDeleteBeing with all kinds of sounds, musical or cacophony is truly exhausting. When after this silence comes it's golden and so relaxing.
ReplyDeleteI hear you, Ollie. Sometimes one just needs to drive in that peaceful silence!
ReplyDeleteYes Neil Young now you are talking my language. "Rust Never Sleeps" and one of my favourite records "On The Beach" - Silence is golden but give me "Walk On" any day. Love this - if just for Neil Young !
ReplyDeleteHard to argue that after "unrelenting cacophony" silence is much to be appreciated.
ReplyDeleteNeil Young and a slight tire hum. You find music in all the right places. Keep rolling with these poems!!!
