5:30 in the Forest

pond fish are fed
coffee brewed
tend to the temple dogs and cats
morning duties under way

stray to the forest
watch as
raccoon, fox and coyote
return from their night duties
no rest for the trickster

  1. Pond fish are cool. Always liked them. Easy going and friendly, like country people. Your Zen stuff is good.

  6. I've yet to come here and read something that didn't delight my brain. Fine work, short and deeper than a country pond, more like a well.

  9. James Hillman said the ego's no more than a trusty janitor in the pantheon. Sometimes with a trickster riding along on the shoulders, throwing banana peels hither and yon. Keep on keepin' on. - Brendan

  12. Superb, perfect. Can see it, feel it, blah blah blah. Wish I'd written this (written in a non-jealous way).
