a kitchen meditation

guests gone
dishes piled
the tired monk toils
robes elbow deep
in greasy suds

duty done

linger
for sink side
brandy break

  2. surely the tired monk is cleaning up after mass? and what is he doing entertaining lipstick-wearing guests anyway?

  4. oh, was it that party? and was it a good one? was that little face so full and delighted? was there cake?

and the readjustment of house and home and self after, with one big breath, and ya, a little break.
