some paths are worn
deep rutted circles
the same ground pounded
deep and hard sun baked
some paths are blocked
black chainlinks barring
forest walks, rambling dog
wandering adventures
some paths are crooked
all roots, stumbling rocks
soft sand shifting underfoot
or swampy mires
some paths are straightened
by prayers, acknowledgement,
songs, meditation, kindness
unconditional hospitality.
I love this! So many paths. It is always good when the path becomes more clear and easier to follow. I love the rambling dog!
ReplyDeleteYou're on a roll! Roll these poems out like a long carpet, it's story like a long path with both crooked roots and flat easy earth. This poem says the journey in life is both. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteI love that you didn’t specify which book. I know the parable though.
ReplyDeleteUnconditional hospitality is a beautiful path to healing and spiritual growth.
