The Monk's Night

night
a time of poems
some lit and fired
by the smooth swirling sips
of Scotch

as dawn nears
coffee is the muse
all heart beat and pounding
grinding out intense
notebook gems

  1. Scotch and poetry with a Haiku flare. That's what I like.

  2. Coffee always works much better for me, Ollie. You can have my Scotch. Fork over the Folger's, dude. LOL.

  3. Ah, Old Ollie, scotch...
I'm a red wine drinker, but once that commences, I'm not writing any more! Is that an indication that I should try scotch?

  4. I used to like a scotch or two. It was never conducive to writing though, made the words scurry across the page like mad ants. lol Now the coffee, that's the stuff.

    Nice writing, Ollie. :-)

  5. Ollie, love your writing and I am with the coffee.
    Liquor makes me silly ;)
I can't afford too much of that.
