Tonsure

tonsure stings
stinging with little rips of pain
with each drop of sweat
burning

  1. Gripping poem. Man is a confused being. Best to revel in it.

  4. It never occurred to me that the process would be painful, but it makes sense considering the time and place and purpose of origin. I have been enlightened a bit more today.

  5. A symbol of purification? A ritual of being cleansed. I guess there is pain to be had in both. I like how you capture a profound thought in such few words.
