Later

turns out every prayer
is answered
yes - no - later
no quick conduit to God
even monks have to wait

lately I've rounded out
and aged into the time
of seeing old prayers answered
yeah - dusty  - almost forgotten,
but answered all the same

praying
is the miracle

  3. I like this poem very much. I pray a lot. I wait a lot. Maybe the waiting IS the answered prayer. Because I wait in the presence of God. Always. Amen.

  4. And sometimes they are answered fast. (Usually, but not only, when they involve healing for others.)

Interesting assertion, your conclusion; I'll ponder that awhile.

  5. Praying to God probably relaxes us so we see what we need to do after all.

  6. I love this - every prayer answered, sooner or later.......sometimes it takes a long time.

  8. Ah, a prayer to time. A prayer to wait, the answer will come. I prayed for a poem--and the Tired Monk arrived. Nice work.
